The story behind the boycott
ITV News reported that residents near Astley Business Park in Tyldesley were being kept awake by noise after Whistl began operations in July 2026. The Astley Warehouse Action Group commissioned an independent noise assessment to document the impact.

What has changed?
In its statement dated 11 September 2026, Whistl said it had introduced a pause in yard transport between midnight and 6am from 7 September. It said overnight processing inside the depot would continue, and described the restrictions as an interim measure while a longer-term solution is developed.
ITV reported the action group’s view that the six-hour pause was progress, while further restrictions were still needed. We include these developments so visitors can assess both the concerns and the response.

We are asking brands to stop using Whistl in response to the impact of its Astley operations on nearby residents. Consumers can ask companies to confirm their relationship, explain their position, and end their work with Whistl.

We record an Astley connection separately. A Whistl customer may use other sites or services. We only mark Astley use as confirmed, or denied by a company, when there is explicit supporting evidence.
